President Abdullah Gül Visits TÜBİTAK's Research Campus
President Abdullah Gül of Turkey on Thursday paid a visit to TUBİTAK’s Marmara Research Center (MAM) which houses a collection of institutes and laboratories engaged in state-of-the art research in diverse fields of science and technology.
During the visit to the sprawling campus an hour’s drive from Istanbul, President Gül was briefed by MAM’s Acting President Önder Yetiş on the military and civilian industrial projects, systems, products and devices developed at the center and toured the National Electronics and Cryptology Research Institute and the National Metrology Institute.
At the end of the tour, President Gül congratulated TÜBİTAK and its employees and paid tribute to the successes acknowledged at home and abroad. Reiterating the priority attached to science and technology by the administration, the President also pledged his full personal support.
